Time Collide

I don't live in the present as much as I reside where the past and the future violently collide.

Here are some of the things I am interested in:

Built Heritage, Archaeology, Adaptive Reuse, Canadian History, Vernacular Architecture, Oral Narratives, Disaster Management in the Cultural Heritage Sector, Space Heritage, Space Archaeology, Space Architecture, Space Settlement, Science & Speculative Fiction, Paleofuturism, Bookfuturism, Cyberspace Heritage, Techno-Archaeology, Post-Apocalyptic Dystopia, Reckless Optimism, Time Travel, Time Depth & The Long Now.

THIS GUY JUMPED OUT OF A BALLOON AT 102,800 FEET
On August 16, 1960, USAF Col. Joe Kittinger (then Captain) made a jump from the Excelsior III balloon at 102800 feet
Remember a long time ago, when more people got attention not just for finding stuff that other people did and talking about it, but for actually doing stuff? Not to get all misty, but I sometimes long for the days when men went to find the limits of their understanding and pushed on to new human experiences. They’d say things like, “So long, Charlie. I’m going to go see what it’s like to fly to 100,000 feet. I hope I make it back so we can have a drink and I’ll tell you all about it.”
